Taylor Simonton is serving or has served on seven corporate boards of directors, including six public companies, always as Audit Committee Chair and Audit Committee Financial Expert.  His board service in multiple industries includes Advanced Emissions Solutions, Inc. (currently), Escalera Resources Co., BDCA Venture, Inc., Zynex, Inc., Red Robin Gourmet Burgers, Inc., Quality Rail Services, LLC, and Fischer Imaging Corporation.  As Audit Committee Chair, he has overseen restatements of financial statements at three companies and led the internal investigations at two of those companies, all related to issues arising before his tenure.  He has also served on the Compensation and Nominating & Governance Committees of several of these companies.

Taylor retired last year after 10 years of service on the Board of Directors of the Colorado Chapter of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD), where he served over time as its Treasurer, President, Chairman, and Editor.   He is a Board Leadership Fellow, NACDís highest director credential and was honored as Coloradoís 2014 Outstanding Public Company Director by the Denver Business Journal and NACD-Colorado.  Corporate Board Member and Agenda Week magazines have interviewed Taylor in multiple issues and he writes articles on topics of interest to corporate directors for ColoradoBIZ Magazineís digital media.  Taylor spent his entire professional career, including 23 years as an Assurance and National Office SEC Services Partner, at PwC.   He has extensive experience with 1933, 1934 and 1940 Act SEC filings, including assistance with over 100 IPOs during his PwC career.   His last seven years with PwC, including four years living in Bogota, Colombia, were in the SEC Services of the firmís National Professional Services Group, which handles the firmís SEC, corporate governance, accounting & auditing, risk management and quality matters.

Taylor is admitted as an expert witness in accounting, auditing, and corporate governance in U.S. District Court, Colorado Division.  He also is a mentor and presenter to the Board Bound Program of the Coloradoís Womenís Leadership Foundation, an organization dedicated to placing more women in corporate director roles. 

Taylor is a 1966 graduate of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville with a B.S. in Accounting, and he is a Certified Public Accountant, licensed in Colorado.  Taylor and his wife, Jean, live in metropolitan Denver, Colorado.
